The AWG “Environmental Sustainability Advisory Committee” is encouraging all spectators, when possible, to consider walking as their first choice for commuting between venues, restaurants, and their accommodations. If walking is not an option for spectators, the AWG is encouraging the use of a public transportation service. The Bow Valley Regional Transit Services Commission (BVRTSC) is a government agency that provides the ROAM bus service that operates both a local bus service within the town of Banff and regional service between Canmore and Banff.

Understanding Our Logo
With excitement, we introduce the 2014 Alberta Winter Games logo.
Designed to strategically and effectively represent the communities of Banff and Canmore, the logo is the vital and exciting first impression of the Games. Shaping how people interact with the event, the logo sings with energy and is ready to inspire thousands of Albertans.
Featuring 5 stylized mountains representing 5 key important aspects of the games — Athletics, Community, Health, Culture and Volunteers. Each of these mountains are a different colour and overlap communicating how each of these key aspects do not stand alone or operate independently but instead overlap to achieve success, realize new ideas and triumph cooperation
